The Philosophical Allegories and Mystical Treatises
In this work nine 12th c philosophical allegorical tales are edited, translated and introduced. The work is a most welcome addition to the field of Islamic/Iranian intellectual history—specifically non-Aristotelian philosophical traditions where the Gnostic, Hermetic, and especially Ploitinian views on being, knowing, soul, intellect, vision and experience, and so on, come together within the novel systematic philosophical reconstructed system named “Philosophy of Illumination.”
